All of us spend a lot of time in the kitchen, but what we do in that time can vastly affect the way your designer will guide you through your process. For example, if you’re a foodie who needs lots of space to spread out while creating complex recipes, you’ll need a different space than someone who is just looking to “feed the troops” after a long day of school and work. Think about how you spend your time in the kitchen, and what kind of conveniences you’re looking for.
3. What “one thing” do you want to change about your kitchen?
If you are in the market for a kitchen remodel or reface, then chances are your search for that new, exciting look began with one specific pain point. Are your cabinet doors peeling? Is the area under your sink dark and scary? Is there a corner cabinet that doubles as a black hole for pots, pans, spices, or glasses? Whatever your “one thing” may be, make sure you bring that up with your designer. Whatever your price point may be, resolving that “one thing” will make everything worth it!
4. What do you love about your kitchen?
It’s easy to get caught up in all the changes you are ready to make in your kitchen. But try to remember what you like about your kitchen too! This is good information for your designer, who wouldn’t want to eliminate the highlight of your kitchen’s design. Furthermore, sharing what you love about your existing kitchen opens up a great opportunity for your designer to enhance your project and bring more of what you love throughout your space!
5. How long have you wanted to update your kitchen?
If you work up this morning an thought, “Hey, I want to remodel my kitchen!” Then we suggest you go right back up to the top of this list. You have a lot to consider!
