 The company offers seminars to teach consumers what to look for in a contractor.

Celebrating their 30th anniversary in business this year – and their 50th of marriage – Brenda and Vinny Nardo’s history plays a part in their work today, CEO Brenda Nardo said. Born in Brooklyn, Vinny learned the craft from three older brothers, according to his wife. It affected his approach to making cabinets. “There’s a different energy in New York,” Brenda said. “Cabinet refacing wasn’t a big thing at all, so he brought that skill here.” Reborn has always specialized in refacing cabinets, mitering edges so they look naturally joined instead of plastering on molding.

A hand-painted finish resists cooking grease and nail polish remover, according to Nardo, but don’t take her word for it. Reborn offers five-hour seminars every couple of months on what to look for in a remodeler, lunch included.

“We’re not contractors who are there to take your money and leave you,” Nardo said. “We want to feel good about you when you get it.”
